Missions Department - Baptism?

WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?

Well it begins with Jesus. Act 16:31 “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved-you and your household.”

Believe who He is – born of a virgin, the Son of the living God, died on the cross, rose from the dead, the Saviour of the world and lives today and, is coming back again.

THEN WHAT!

Be baptised. Why?

Jesus said, Matthew 28:19 “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

It is a public identification, an expression of faith, uniting our self with Jesus Christ. It is as a marriage of a man and woman at the altar, they become one, and we become one with Jesus. As we are submerged in water our old life is washed away and as we emerge from the depths of the water a new life begins and we are new creatures in Christ.

THEN WHAT!

As in a marriage there must be a relationship. It doesn't happen overnight it a takes a lot of conversation – PRAYER and, reading the Bible, where you will get to know more about Jesus

and God our Father and Creator.

FURTHER HELP!!!

THE HOLY SPIRIT, you’ll find Him in the book of Acts.

But in St. John 14: 16-17 Jesus said, ’and I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever — 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.’

Find a Bible believing church to help and encourage you in your new life with Jesus Christ.
